A Great Week!! August 29, 2016

This past week has been great! We were able to have dinner with one of our investigators Jen!! It was so much fun! They live on a farm so we were able to go and help her kids do chores for a few minutes before supper. All of her kids were asking us questions about missionary work and what we do all day. It was so much fun to see how all of her kids wanted to learn more about what we do. This was the first time that we were able to meet with Jen's whole family at once and it was awesome!! Jen's husband, Clayton, has been a little leery to let us talk to him about the gospel but after we had a great conversation over dinner and shared a few laughs when it came to sharing the message he actually stayed!!!! Oh it just warmed my heart! We were able to share with their family a message about seeing God's hand in our life and recognizing how much He loves and knows us. It was so awesome because as we were talking and testifying of Christ Clayton was actually engaged and really listening! Oh it was such a neat experience to be able to teach a whole family about the Gospel of Jesus Christ!!

Also during the week we had the opportunity to go to the Cardston Temple with Elder and Sister Parkinson, they are a service missionary couple in our mission. It was such an amazing experience. In our mission we are only able to attend the Temple once every 3-4 months because we are all spread out so far in the mission and it is quite the trip to get to the temple. Needless to say because we only get to go a few times it makes the experience even more special. This week it was especially meaningful to me. As I was able to feel the peace that the Temple brings and learn from the Spirit within its walls. I have come to gain an even stronger testimony of the importance of Temples. I know that the covenants we make with Heavenly Father within the walls of the temple endow us with power. I know that Temples truly are the House of the Lord. I know that I have felt the Spirit bring peace to my soul and enlightenment to my mind while in the Temple. I am so grateful for the many Temples around the world that give so many Latter-Day Saints an opportunity to worship Heavenly Father and feel the special Spirit within the walls of His Holy House. I am grateful that I can learn little by little each time I attend the sacred House of the Lord like it says in 2 Nephi 28:30 "For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little" There are still so many things that I do not know or understand... But I do know that Heavenly Father is mindful of each of His children. I know that He loves each of us so much. He will help us, we only need to ask with a sincere heart and be patient for His divine timing. I know that everything that I am and everything that I hope to become is because of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I hope that each of us will be able to attend the Temple as often as we can in our own individual circumstances. I know that as we make the Temple a priority in our lives we will gain additional spiritual strength to overcome temptations and combat the adversary. I am grateful for the Restoration of the Gospel and that because of that Restoration I have an opportunity to attend the Temple and come even closer to my Savior.
