March 28, 2016 Easter

This week has been great! Sister Blaser and I have been doing a lot of contacting and passing out a lot of #Hallelujah cards before Easter! We have had so many neat experiences with just talking to everyone!! Also this week was the Womens Conference and it was so amazing! That is actually what I wanted to share today! (: Sister Marriott said, " Love is making space in your life for someone else." That really hit me! I have thought a lot about that simple phrase... I think that is why our Savior Jesus Christ loves each of us so much, because His whole earthly life, and resurrected life, is centered on helping and loving everyone! It has inspired me to take more time to do the little things and try to help everyone around me feel loved! Time is something that is very limited for everyone.... we all only have 24 hours in the day! It doesn't matter if you are rich, poor, happy, sad, what country you are in, or anything else. We ALL only have 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week. But when we MAKE TIME to serve, love and uplift those around us we are making the MOST of our time and serving our Father in Heaven! Mosiah 2:17 says it so well, "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." We all have opportunities throughout the day to help uplift and strengthen our fellow brothers and sisters and help them feel loved! This week I have really thought about how important it is to make the most of the time that I have been blessed with on this earth to love people and make space for others in my life. I am so grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ and His example of LOVING everyone!

March 21, 2016 More Tender Mercies

This week Sister Blaser and I went on exchanges! I went with Sister Sears to Calgary and we saw so many amazing tender mercies!! (: We were doing our nightly planning and knew that we were going to be seeing a lady named Taryn and that she had a little girl and was just visiting in Calgary for a few weeks. As Sister Sears and I prayed and pondered about what she might be in need of Sister Sears said, "I think she needs to know that God loves her." So the next day we went to a members home that she was staying in and started teaching her the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But the most amazing and spirit filled part of that lesson was when we looked in her eyes and told her that God loved her.... tears started to fill her eyes as she felt the Spirit testify to her that God knew her personally and loved her! It was just such a touching experience! It has strengthened my testimony that God is mindful of all of us and if we pray and ask Him for guidance to know how we can help those around us He will impress our minds and our hearts and let us each be instruments in His hands in helping our brothers and sisters feel loved. I am so grateful to know that God loves each of us and that no matter what we are going through He will always be there for us!! (:

A Great Week!! March 14, 2016

So this week has been so great!! We have has so many cool little miracles! To start, Sister Ovard and I (before she got transfered) went to Lake Louise one night because all of our appointments fell through and we just felt like that is where we should go even though it was quite a drive.... We tried to do some contacting but nothing was really coming of it and no one was really interested. Then it was coming pretty close to the time that we needed to head home so that we could make it home by curfew. But we wanted to knock on just a few more doors. So we walked up to this random street and started knocking and low and behold the third door that we knocked on a man named Neco came to the door and invited us in!! So we started talking to him about how as missionaries we come from all over the world to talk to people about Jesus Christ and how He has blessed out lives. And then he looked at me and asked me with all sincerity, "How has Jesus blessed your life?" And then I told him, I shared some of the things that has happened in my life and how I have felt the love Christ has for me through some of my trials, and I just bore testimony of the Savior. It was such an amazing experience!!! Then as we were leaving he talked to us about how seeds need to be planted in good soil and things like that ( almost quoting things from The Book of Mormon!!!) So we left his house and ran to our car and grabbed a Book of Mormon and went to give it to him!! So we knocked on his door again and he let us in and as we went to give him The Book of Mormon he said that they already had one in their apartment... and he showed it to us!!! So we invited him to read a chapter from Alma and marked it for him in The Book of Mormon that was in their apartment and invited him to pray about what he read! It was just so amazing!! He was such a kind man and he was so prepared by the Lord! Unfortunately right before we left the second time he told us that he was moving in two weeks to Vancouver Island... but this experience has really built up my testimony to know that all the little things that each of us do truly does make a difference! I don't know how that Book of Mormon ended up in their apartment but someone had already planted the seed and then Heavenly Father sent us to Neco to testify of our Savior! I don't know if I will ever see Neco again in this life... but I do know that no matter where he goes Heavenly Father is going to continue to prepare him to receive The Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Another cool experience from this week... Sister Blaser and I were waiting for someone to meet us at Elevation Place (a public place in Canmore that we have lessons at sometimes) and as time was going by and he wasn't showing up we decided to just put our Book of Mormons out on our laps. And as everyone went by we would say hi to them and then they would look at The Book of Mormons that we had! One lady, Susan came up to us and we just chatted with her about what we believe and why we leave our families for a year and a half so we can help others learn of Christ and feel loved by Him! And we just chatted and chatted! It was such a neat experience! Even thought the man that we were trying to meet never did show up and Susan told us that she didn't want to meet with us, it was such a neat experience to see how Heavenly Father truly does guide us in the small things! If we hadn't of had The Book of Mormon on our laps Susan might not have stopped and stated to ask us questions! Just like it says in 1 Nephi 16:29 "by small means the Lord can bring about great things." I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve here! I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us individually and I am so grateful that I have an opportunity to bear testimony of Jesus Christ everywhere I go... whether through words, actions, or just a simple smile! (: The little things really do make a difference! (:
