Beyond Blessed January 25, 2016

I truly don't even know where to begin this week!! We have been so beyond blessed!!! So lately we have been teaching quite a few people but no one has really just taken hold of the Gospel and just loved it and wanted to learn more. So that past week and a half Sister Lyu, Sister Ince, and me have been praying personally and as a companionship and asking Heavenly Father if He would please put someone in our path that He has prepared and that is really ready for the Gospel. We knew though that we couldn't just ask and not put in some extra work though... so we have been trying to work even harder and be even more diligent to show Heavenly Father that we truly are trying to do all that we have control over! So Tuesday morning during our companionship prayer we asked Heavenly Father if He could put someone in our path that was truly prepared that day. We tried to make the stop by's that we thought would be people that might be prepared but nothing really came of them. So we just went about our night to the appointments that we had planned. And at 9:00 we got a call from the Assistants to the President. I assumed that they were just calling us to tell us that Sister Ince's visa had come... but they had a referral for us!!! There was a member that had given one of his co-workers The Book of Mormon and she had read all the way to 2 Nephi!! And that she loved The Book of Mormon so much that she was telling her family all about it!! They even said that the member made an appointment for the missionaries to see her Wednesday night!!! Oh it was so amazing! Heavenly Father truly does hear and answer our prayers, He just does it when He knows it is best!!!! Oh we are just so so grateful!! Now fast forward to Wednesday night.... so we went over to this Sister's home and began teaching her about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and we asked her what she thought and she said, "It all just sounds so familiar." And then all of our eyes went big!!! Oh Heavenly Father sure does know what He is doing!! But to add to the awesomeness of this story... we read Moroni 10:3-5 with her and asked her to pray to God to know that The Book of Mormon was true for herself. And then she said, " I already have, I feel the Spirit every time that I read from it and I feel that same Spirit here today as we are talking." And at this point I was just blown away!!! I had a testimony before that Heavenly Father hears and answers prays... but now I am even more grateful and my testimony is strengthened even more!!! I know that our Savior loves us and can help us no matter how hard things are. I know that Heavenly Father is truly mindful of each of us individually and that He will always take time to help us feel loved and answer our prayers. I am so grateful for our Father in Heaven and our Savior!! This experience was no coincidence... This was a miracle that came from our Father above!!! (:

A Great Week!! January 18, 2016

So this week has been great! (: We met with another part member family this week. We  have tried to visit a few times... but every time we have visited the husband, the one who is not a member, is pretty quiet and doesn't really like to talk to us. But we tried to follow the Spirit and made another appointment to come to their house again... and Holy Cow it was amazing!!! This Brother was so nice to us!! And he was telling us all about his son that is actually serving in Provo right now! And the icing on the cake is that he participated SO much during our message!!! There have been so many amazing experiences of peoples hearts softening!! It is so amazing to see the Spirit work within people and change their hearts. But the change of heart that I think I am most grateful for is the change of heart that has happened within myself! I have learned so many amazing things as I have been serving! Moroni's promise in Moroni 10:3-5 has become so real for me! I know that Heavenly Father loves me and that He hears my prayers and I am grateful for the knowledge that we can all obtain in our minds and hearts as we pray individually to know that The Gospel of Jesus Christ is true and that The Book of Mormon truly is the word of God. I'm so grateful to be able to have to opportunity to serve a mission and see the Spirit work in so many lives and see people's countenance's light up once they begin to feel the love that our Father in Heaven and Savior has for all of us! The Gospel of Jesus Christ is such a blessing in my life and I am so grateful for the opportunity to share it with the people around me!! (:

January 11, 2016 A Great Week

Now as for this week, it has been so so great! I went on exchanges ( when we are with a different companion for 24 hours ) with Sister Tilley, she is actually from Brigham City!! (: And we went to her area in Cardston and we had so much fun together, but even better than that was we were able to visit so many amazing people! We stopped by this one sisters home who is less active and she actually lost her husband last year.... We were all just visiting for a little while and then we shared a message about reading The Book of Mormon and how it can answer our questions. As we were talking the Spirit brought an experience to my remembrance and I shared with her and her teenage son that after the passing of my mom I prayed for peace and then opened The Book of Mormon and read 2 Nephi 1:15 and how it was the answer to my prayer. It says, "I have beheld His glory, and I am encircled about eternally in the arms of His love." Then I bore my testimony on the power of prayer and how Heavenly Father knows us all individually and how He will answer our prayers through so many ways and The Book of Mormon is one of the most special places to find answers and peace. Then this sister began to cry, oh the Spirit was just so strong in the room!! So I stood up and just gave her a hug!! It was such an amazing experience of how the Lord truly does know each of us so personally and He knows exactly what we need. All of us can be lead by the Spirit to know how to help those around us, we just need to be listening! (: Oh I will always cherish this special memory!

January 4, 2016 Happy New Years!

This week has been an amazing one! We had a thought to try and stop by one of the less actives that we haven't seen in a while. So the husband let us in and at first it was a little awkward... we were just talking about random things but I could tell that he wasn't overjoyed to really have us there... But it was so amazing to see him start to share more and open up through our visit! Then we asked him if we could share a message before we headed off and he said yes. So a little back ground of this family... they haven't been overly active because some hard things have happened to their family and they have been offended by some members (which we knew going in to the visit).... Anyways back to the story, so Sister Lyu shares with them a scripture from the Book of Mormon about turning to God. Then she tells them strait up that when we are offended we can not stop coming to church but that we need to turn to our Father in Heaven and ask Him for help and remember that the true reason we attend church is because we love our Savior and our Father in Heaven! Needless to say I almost had an accident in my skirt.... my heart was pounding so hard because I didn't want to offend this man... but I just prayed and prayed in my heart that his heart would be soft and that Sister Lyu's words would be continually guided by the Spirit! And after Sister Lyu shared the scripture and the thoughts that she had to go along with it she asked this man if he had ever had an experience like that in his life!!! At this point during the lesson I was at a lost for words... I didn't know what was about to happen... But the next thing I know this Brother began to share his story with us. He told us about the hard things that he and his family had experienced and he really opened up to us!!! He even shared a scripture with us! D&C 64:10 and told us how when he read that scripture he know that he needed to forgive the ones around him!! He was bearing His testimony to us about his love for his Father in Heaven and our Savior!!! Now by this time in the lesson the Spirit truly had touched all of our hearts! It was one of the most memorable lessons I have had! Then the kicker of the story is after we left I asked Sister Lyu why she had decided to share that scripture considering it was so bold. She looked at me and said " I forgot why they stopped coming to church, when I was looking for a scripture I was just praying to find the one that Heavenly Father knew that this man needed." I have truly learned so much from this experience! Even when it might seem hard we need to follow the Spirit and not be afraid to do what we are asked. Now that does not mean that we need to go around and tell everyone what they are doing wrong by any means....because we are all imperfect.... But we do need to act out of LOVE and follow the example of our Savior and listen to the promptings of the Spirit and be willing to do what Heavenly Father needs us to do! I am so grateful for such amazing companions and for the example of our Savior!!  I know that Heavenly Father knows each of us individually and what are needs are. And as we turn to Him in prayer He will ALWAYS lead us, but it will be in His way, and in His timing! (:
